A1. Pazzo’s Adventure, Chapter 2

If our tour of the Pacific in 2004/2005 was Chapter 1, then this hair-brained adventure around the globe must be Chapter 2.

In reality, however, we expect that this odyssey will be a collection of smaller adventures or Chapters in the life of Pazzo.

As an overview, the first segment of our globe-trot will take us to the south tip of South America: Patagonia and Cape Horn.   We’ll meander out way South to Mexico, into the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of Califonia), then onward to Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, the Galapagos, Peru, and finally Chile.   Objective: Patagonia for Christmas 2017.

That’s right. We’ve given ourselves a year to cover roughly 8000 miles along the coasts of North, Central, and South Americas.   12 months to knock off about 8 – 10 weeks of sailing affords ample time to explore new lands, and wait for suitable weather

After Patagonia, including the Straits of Magellan, the Beagle canal, and Cape Horn, the current plan is to come back North through the channels of Chile before heading Northwest across the Pacific to Polynesia and west-about around the world.

As our plans firm up, we’ll post our rough itinerary on this site, hoping that friends and family will join us.   Our wonderful good fortune is not for us to enjoy alone; it is to share with our dear friends and family. Check our itinerary for exciting places you’d like to visit, then send us a note here on our website.   (Important disclaimer: pick places that you’d be happy to visit, even without Pazzo. Voyaging is full of surprises and we’re at the mercy of weather and breakdowns. Despite best efforts and intentions, there is always a 20% chance we won’t be able to meet you as planned. Bummer, but have a ton of fun without us anyway!)

That’s all for now.

Hugs to all,   Pazzo
